William Noonan Schedule of Art Classes

At my Newburgh Home Studio or my Poughkeepsie Gallery Space

Private Lessons...Work one-on-one, in my Newburgh studio, on any painting or drawing media. William's method of art coaching is suited to artists of all levels and styles. $17.50 per half hour. Private lessons can be arranged at my Poughkeepsie location, or your location within 30 minutes of Newburgh, with an additional flat $10 service fee. Private lessons are pay as you go and do not qualify for bulk discount.

Newburgh Studio Painting Class 9:30-noon... ongoing, work in oils or any other medium you like.. paint or draw... beginners welcome. Students may start at any time and may drop in and out no commitment required. Work at your own level - from absolute beginners to advanced. Instruction is personalized. Please give me 24 hour notice by phone or email before attending. Class is $35 per 2.5 hour session. Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9:30-12

Enjoy Italy with a purpose. Customized packages for small groups of 3-8 people.

 

Laura Martinez-Bianco and William Noonan create custom work and play experiences in the heart of the Italian landscape. Centered in Perugia, Umbria.

Laura’s medium is pastels, William’s is oils.

 

All inclusive (except airfare), week-long workshops run approximately $3,000 per person.

Oil Painting and Other Mediums
Learn the basic elements of oil painting, fundamentals such as materials, color and composition. This course is offered in monthly series of three weeks each. This class is appropriate for absolute beginners and for students with some experience. Students may also opt to work in watercolor, pastel or acrylic.  All students will learn from hands on practice and personalized critiques.
Sat. 10:00-12:30pm $100 (3 classes)

Portrait Long Pose
This monthly three hour session will have one long pose appropriate for portrait painting or drawing. Students may work in any medium they choose. Instruction will be one-on-one critiques with the instructor. This class is appropriate for intermediate to advanced students. Class is offered the first Thursday (unless specified) of every month  6-9pm.
$41.25 Price includes model fee.

Basic Drawing
This class will focus on the fundamentals of drawing. Whether as the basis of painting or drawing as an art form of its own any artist knows that one's drawing skills are never beyond improvement. Class assignments will be from direct observation. Students will learn how to gain a critical eye on their own work allowing them to take their skill to the next level. This class is appropriate for absolute beginners or rusty artists.

Drawing Intermediate/Advanced
For students who have completed the “Basic” drawing course or who already have some experience. In this class exercises we will explore diverse and challenging exercises with a some attention placed on finishing drawings. Basic principles of drawing will be reviewed.
Mondays  10:00am-12:30pm $100 (3 classes per month)

Understanding Color
Unlock what you already know about this intuitive facet of painting. This class focuses on the expressive nature of color. We will utilize practical applied experimentation of color not academic theory. Become more familiar with the nuances of color while you explore this powerful component of painting. Students will be asked to challenge their perception and application of color as it relates to emotion, mood and psychology. Students will work on a variety of studio exercises. This class is appropriate for painters of all mediums and levels.
